Why should I affiliate with Gamma Sigma Sigma? Gamma Sigma Sigma gives you the opportunity to: ...interact with individuals across the country who share similar interests, ideals, and goals. ...exchange service projects and ideals about membership development, common interests, and chapter leadership opportunities. ...benefit from the expertise of specialists in service work and project development. ...participate in national conventions and conferences where members exchange ideas for improvement and expansion of service to school, community, and the nation. ...work with the many national volunteer organizations with whom Gamma Sigma Sigma has developed ties.
Why is there a period of pledgeship before activation?
How does one become a pledge? One becomes a pledge by expressing a desire to serve and become a member of Gamma Sigma Sigma. Each candidate for membership must have a desire to render service to others and to fulfill the requirements set forth by the college or university for membership in any organization. Gamma Sigma Sigma welcomes members of other organizations, including social sororities, into its membership.
Do chapters offer social activities for members?
Does Gamma Sigma Sigma have alumnae activities? Alumnae chapters may advise undergraduate chapters, carry out joint projects, and aid in the expansion of the sorority. As a member of an alumnae chapter, you will be able to meet other members in your area. If you are not able to participate in an alumnae chapter, you can still be a part of all sorority functions as an alumna-at-large. Alumnae-at-large continue their service to the community and nation as individuals.
